01 / Our story
Architecture with real life in mind.
Love Architects was founded on a simple belief: residential design should be easier to understand and better connected to the people who live with the results.
Planning an extension, rethinking your layout or creating a new home brings a lot of decisions. Too often, the process feels more complicated than it needs to. Drawings, planning requirements, structural considerations and budgets can pull in different directions.
We wanted to build a different kind of experience — one where good design and practical thinking work together, where options are explained clearly, and where homeowners feel listened to and supported.
Our work starts with understanding the property and the people. From there, we help shape spaces that feel right, work well and make sense to build.

Love Architects brings together hands-on residential design experience and a considered approach to building a modern, customer-focused business. We share the belief that good ideas should be practical, clearly communicated and carefully delivered.
Michael Cook
Co-founder & Architectural Technician
Michael leads residential design at Love Architects, helping homeowners turn their ideas into practical, carefully considered plans. Working in residential design since 2007, his experience spans extensions, loft conversions and internal alterations across Surrey and the surrounding areas.
Before co-founding Love Architects, Michael established Reveal Design & Build. His work brings together measured surveys, design development, planning drawings and Building Regulations, working closely with structural engineers and builders. His background in sales also shapes his personal approach: listening carefully, understanding priorities and explaining options clearly.
At Love, Michael’s focus is on creating homes that work better for the people living in them. He combines thoughtful design with practical understanding, helping clients balance space, character and budget while feeling informed and supported throughout the process.
Jon Skinner
Co-founder & Creative Director
Jon shapes the creative direction, brand and customer experience at Love Architects, drawing on more than three decades of building businesses across creative industries, technology and customer-focused services.
His interest in homes comes from personal experience of renovating and rethinking living spaces, alongside a belief that the best services make complicated decisions feel easier. He brings a practical, design-minded approach to how Love communicates, works with clients and grows.
At Love, Jon works alongside Michael to build a business where considered design is matched by clear communication, dependable processes and a genuinely personal experience — from the first conversation onwards.
